In the last couple of years one of our best selling motorcycle jackets has been the Belstaff Riding Jersey. On the inside it's a fleece, but this is then bonded to an outer shell that, to all intents and purposes, looks and feels like 'worn' leather.
The jacket is showerproof, but not waterproof. And as with every Belstaff jacket, you get intelligent D30 CE level armour fitted in the shoulders and elbows. The version you see here, however, is the brand new 2013 version that is due to arrive with us sometime this December. It replaces the 2012 version that has now completely sold out.
Belstaff claim the new version is an upgrade, with better detailing and quality control. Ours is not to question why, but there were never any issues with the old version. The only differences we can see are new Belstaff branded button and new zip pulls.
To us, this is good news. The Riding Jersey is a brilliant bit of kit and we didn't really want Belstaff to make any changes to it. The downside, unfortunately, is that the new version will be more expensive than the old one. But if you'd like to get one of these jackets, you should give serious consideration to placing an order now before the new stock arrives.
The jacket technically comes in black or green, but both versions look black in most lights. The green is very very dark green and it makes the jacket look a little bit more worn and used, it gives the jacket a slightly more vintage feel.
We're hoping to see these jackets in early December, but a pre-Christmas delivery is certainly not guaranteed. see details
